Molière in the Park returns to BRIC for a one-night-only Stoop Share event on May 14, presenting a vibrant double-bill that bridges contemporary and classical theater. The program features The Regulars, a lyrical tragedy by playwright Le’Asha Julius, alongside Molière’s sharp comedy of manners The Ludicrous Ladies, starring Lakisha May and Emmy Award-winner Michael Emerson.
Together, the works explore themes of female agency, societal expectations, and desire, revealing striking parallels across centuries. This special presentation continues MIP’s mission to make high-quality theater free and accessible to all while fostering dialogue and community through shared cultural experiences.

<a href="https://www.kidsncomedy.com/shows" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Kids 'N Comedy</a>, the New York program that has been training young comedians since 1996, marks its 30th anniversary with a showcase at Gotham Comedy Club on Sunday, May 17. Current students will perform live alongside alumni who have gone on to careers in television, film, and publishing, including Claire Friedman, a humor columnist for The New Yorker and Emmy-nominated, Peabody Award-winning writer for "Saturday Night Live"; Griffin Newman, known for the Amazon series "The Tick" and the "Blank Check" podcast; and Ryan Drum, a visual effects editor whose credits include the Oscar-nominated "Marty Supreme" and "Song Sung Blue." Singer-songwriter Gene Noble and actors Matt Pavich, Alejandro Kolleeny, Jameer Pond, Jon Cortizo, Mike Witzer, Jordan Rochelson, Frank Marsico, Rachel Resnik, Christopher Ferguson, and John Teufel will join the celebration. Founded by Jo Ann Grossman and Stu Morden, the program gives students ages 10 to 18 real stage experience writing and performing original comedy at professional New York venues. The showcase begins at noon, with an after-party from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. Tickets are $25 plus taxes and fees at kidsncomedy.com/shows.

Montague Street Goes Car-Free Starting May 17 — Here’s What’s Planned This SummerBrooklyn Heights’ Open Streets program returns for seven free Sundays of food, music, shopping, fun and neighborhood programming through June 28.
Montague Street will close to traffic for seven consecutive Sundays beginning May 17, transforming two blocks in the heart of Brooklyn Heights into a pedestrian only stretch filled with outdoor dining, live music, local shopping, family activities, and community events.
<a href="https://www.montaguebid.com/open-streets" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Montague Open Streets</a> runs every Sunday from noon to 5 PM through June 28 between Clinton and Hicks Streets.
Each week features a different theme:
May 17 – Family Spring Fling: Kids activities for ages 2–11 including games, crafts, puppet shows, sports, and face painting in partnership with Brooklyn Bridge Parents. St. Ann &amp; the Holy Trinity Church will also open its doors as part of the NY Landmarks Conservancy Sacred Sites Open House. The church’s stained glass windows were the first created in the New World and date back to 1844.
May 24 – Relax on Montague: No programming. No schedule. Just a quiet, car free street with tables and chairs set out for Memorial Day weekend.
May 31 – Montague Knows: Local businesses and residents share practical tips and skills, including cooking,&nbsp; yoga, a press on nail masterclass, golf tips, stress reduction, wellness and free walking tours of Brooklyn Heights led by McNeil Tours.
June 7 – FAD Market: Independent artisans and makers pop up on the street for a day of shopping alongside Montague Street’s restaurants and storefronts.
June 14 – Dog Day on Montague: The Brooklyn Heights Association Dog Show returns along with dog walkers, pet accessories, adoption organizations, and more. Bring the dog.
June 21 – Celebrate Dad and Summer: Chama Mama hosts a Father’s Day celebration with Georgian food, live music, and a live khinkali-making demonstration. GTHR will lead a summer solstice yoga class, while Golf v.2 offers complimentary simulator sessions.
June 28 – Music on Montague: Live performances from Shinebone Alley Stilt Band, folk and Americana artist Hillary Powell, and local teen rock band JAW Band. The New York Blood Center will also host a blood drive with St. Ann’s Church. Register to donate here
Throughout the season, Chama Mama will offer free tastes and seasonal lemonade every Sunday, City Chemist will host luxe mini treatments, Hanco's will be pouring the matcha and recurring vendors include Flutter Butter Bakery, Marbré Bakery, Propel Electric Bikes, and others.
