Student Fight In Brooklyn Ends In Safety Officer Stabbing

Brooklyn safety officer hospitalized after being stabbed protecting a student during school dismissal.

BROOKLYN, NY— A school safety agent was hospitalized after being stabbed while breaking up a fight near a Brooklyn junior high school Wednesday afternoon.

The agent was stationed outside I.S. 285 Meyer Levin during dismissal when she noticed a disturbance down the block at a bus stop, police stated.

She ran to the scene and found a group of students engaged in a physical altercation.

According to officials, the agent stepped in to protect one of the students and was stabbed in the calf during the intervention. She was taken to Kings County Hospital, where she was reported to be in stable condition.

Police said no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
