🗞 Top stories in Brooklyn today:

1. Southern Brooklynites aren't happy about MTA's proposed bus redesign at Coney Island. A bus stop at the corner of Seabreeze Avenue and W. Fifth Street in Coney Island stands to be eliminated if MTA's proposal moves forward. On Thursday, protestors gathered at the site to protest the redesign with signs that read 'STOP Bus Cuts.' Despite the city's aim to modernize the transportation needs of Brooklynites — eliminating certain stops to cut travel times — many residents will be losing critical stops that they've relied on for years. 2. A cutting-edge, one-of-a-kind sustainability center is coming to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Come 2025, Building 303 at the Brooklyn Navy Yard will be the first commercial hub for sustainable biotechnology in the nation. Yesterday, Mayor Eric Adams made an announcement that the $20 million investment will make New York City a global leader in life sciences and bio-tech. The center will create 400 high-quality jobs, and new office space, research laboratories, and programming space will support a new generation of scientists, innovators, and entrepreneurs. (nyc.gov)

3. Live music in Brooklyn just got a whole lot more accessible. Popular music venue Elsewhere just launched a new membership program so New Yorkers can catch concerts on the cheap. Hoping to change the way America buys concert tickets, Elsewhere's tiered membership program offers monthly benefit packages from $2 (Freaks with Benefits) to $30 (Patron Saint). Memberships will get you anything from free coat checks to weekly promos to unlimited free entry. At the moment, all of the highest tiered memberships have sold out, but Time Out New York is pretty sure the venue will start dishing out more opportunities as demand increases. (Time Out)
