CDPAP New York State

Our CDPAP Services in New York State is a fully funded Medicaid program. CDPAP stands for our Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program, where eligible consumers/patients direct their assistance/care rather than a home care agency, which means they can hire family members and friends as paid caregivers.

CDPAP offers no out-of-pocket cost home care option. With CDPAP, people who live at home don’t have to move to assisted living or a similar facility just because they become ill or injured and need some level of monitoring and care. Instead, they can assign someone they love and trust to take care of them at home and that person gets paid for doing so.

A CDPAP caregiver doesn’t need a home health aide license. The patient/consumer sets the care schedule and is in charge of directing the caregiving assignment. The caregiver gets paid weekly. The hourly pay rate depends on the patient location. We will schedule with Medicaid a couple of assessments to determine the number of home care hours the patient needs.
