Child, Woman Found Dead Inside NYC Apartment: Police

BROOKLYN, NY — A 7-year-old boy and a 33-year-old woman were found dead inside a Brooklyn apartment on Wednesday, police said.

Officers, responding to a 911 call around 2 p.m. at 545 Dumont Ave., found the woman and boy unresponsive inside an apartment. They were both pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

Police are still determining the relationship between the two victims. Multiple media outlets are reporting that the pair may be mother and son.

It is not known at this time what led up to their deaths. An investigation remains ongoing, police said.

The city medical examiner’s office will determine the official cause of death.

The victims' identities have not been released pending family notification.
