Good morning, everybody! It's me, Carlie Houser, your host of the Brooklyn Daily — here to impart everything that's fit to print about what's happening in town these days. Including updates on:

  • TikTok's corn kid is sharing his love for canned veggies in Sunset Park 🌽
  • NYC's first LGBTQ+ landmark was just named in Brooklyn
  • Some holiday announcements!

But first, today's weather:

☀️ Plenty of sunshine. High: 55 Low: 38.

Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

1. Brooklyn's very own 'Corn Kid' teams up with the Green Giant to hand out his favorite canned vegetable for Thanksgiving with City Harvest. Seven-year-old Tariq became a social media sensation when his Recess Therapy interview, professing his unabashed love of corn, went viral. This Thanksgiving, Tariq is sharing his love for corn with folks in his community by joining nonprofit City Harvest to help unload canned vegetables with Green Giant at the Cohen Community Food Rescue Center in Sunset Park. In total, 50,000 cans of corn were packed up for the giveaway, along with various dried goods and 13,000 turkeys for this year's holiday meal boxes. And, in case you missed it, watch the second-grader's original, corny interview at the link.

2. Brooklyn just named its first official LGBTQ+ landmark. The Lesbian Herstory Archives is a row house in Park Slope that's home to the country's oldest and largest collection of lesbian-related historic material. Yesterday, the Landmarks Preservation Commissions (LPC) named the building at 484 14th St. New York City's newest landmark. "For over 30 years, the building has been the site of the Archives' essential role in preserving and telling the stories of a mostly unseen community of women, including many who have contributed to America's cultural, political, and social history," said LPC Chair Sarah Carroll. The designation, she said, draws attention to the Archives' importance in the country's history and in LGBTQ+ history.

3. This Brooklyn building is one of the borough's greenest, with sustainable features like mass timber, no gas, and electric vehicle charging stations. Just listed at $3.2 million, this is the lasting remaining unite in Brooklyn's Timber House, a six-story development built entirely of a sustainable composite material called mass timber. The unique project in Park Slope on Union Street is one of the city's largest mass timber projects. Highly insulating and made with non-toxic glue and reused softwoods, mass timber is an incredibly environmentally friendly building type.
