Driver Filmed Himself Running Over Brooklyn Sex Worker, Said He “Didn’t Regret It”: DA

"I don't regret it," Kevin Morgan, 31, allegedly wrote after hitting a woman with his car. He now faces attempted murder charges.

BROOKLYN, NY — A Brooklyn man who rammed his car into a sex worker at an intersection two years ago has finally been arraigned in Brooklyn Supreme Court.

Kevin Morgan, 31, charged with attempted murder, assault, and other offenses for striking a woman near Wortman and Alabama Avenues—an area known as the “Penn Track,” frequently used for sex work—was brought to court last week, more than two years after the attack.

“Targeting a vulnerable individual in a crosswalk is a cowardly act of extreme depravity that will not be tolerated in Brooklyn. We allege that the victim in this case was subjected to a terrifying, intentional assault that could have cost her life," Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.

Prosecutors say Morgan waited in his Jeep at Wortman and Alabama Avenues and struck a 25-year-old woman as she crossed the street just hours into the new year.

The victim’s report of an earlier assault that night sparked the investigation, which uncovered surveillance footage showing Morgan’s red Jeep speeding into her while she stood in the crosswalk.

Investigators also recovered a video from an iPad seized during a traffic stop of the Jeep, showing the attack from inside the vehicle. The footage, allegedly recorded by a female passenger in the backseat, appears to capture Morgan saying, “Oh, there she goes—she’s in the middle of the thing,” followed by the passenger responding, “Oh, perfect opportunity,” just before the Jeep drove into the victim.

Prosecutors said Morgan later shared the video with several people, adding, “I don’t regret it. This was a message to everybody. Not playing around this year.”

The victim was treated at Brookdale Hospital for injuries consistent with assault and being hit by a vehicle, though she reportedly has no memory of the Jeep striking her, officials said.

Officers say the victim also reported being assaulted by several people earlier that night, but no arrests have been made in that case.

"Having reached historic milestones in public safety last year, we will not permit this kind of brazen violence to threaten the security of our streets," Gonzalez added. "My office remains steadfast in our commitment to protect every member of our community, and we will vigorously seek accountability for this despicable alleged crime.”

Prosecutors say Morgan is being held on $50,000 cash or $250,000 bond and is due back in court on March 4, 2026.
