Cops Hunt Suspected Christmas Attacker Who Beat Elderly Woman

Police believe Marc Malone, 50, delivered a brutal beating to an 88-year-old Brooklyn woman on Christmas morning.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- Police have identified the suspect they believe beat up and robbed an 88-year-old woman Christmas morning, NYPD officials said.

Marc Malone, 50, is suspected of attacking an elderly woman in her home on Surf Avenue and West 35th Street at about 6:45 a.,m. on Dec. 25, said police.

The 88-year-old was repeatedly punched by a man who tore through her possessions in search of loot, police said.

The robber fled only after he realized the brave woman had summoned authorities with her emergency medical alert service device, police said.

Emergency responders took the 88-year-old woman to Coney Island Hospital, where she was treated and released, said police.
