Victim IDed In Fatal 4 Car Pileup On Kosciusko Bridge: NYPD

Two lanes of the bridge were closed as a result of the crash, cops said.

BROOKLYN, NY — Six people were rushed to a local hospital and one died on Thursday morning after a four-car crash on Kosciusko Bridge just before 11 a.m., New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, at 10:41 a.m., a 46-year-old man driving a 2024 GMC Sierra pickup truck down the westbound lane of the bridge crashed into a a 2021 Honda HRV and a2012 Chevrolet Silverado, which then collided with a 2018 Kia Sorrento.

Emergency responders rushed several people to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, and 75-year-old Shafiur Rahman, a Texas native, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

All the drivers and the passengers — The 46-year-old man, a 36-year-old man, a 6-year-old boy, a 38-year-old woman, a 40-year-old man, a 49-year-old man, and an 8-year-old girl — were rushed to the hospital in stable condition, police said.

Two lanes of the bridge were closed as a result of the crash, cops said.

The pick-up driver stayed on the scene, and no arrests have been made yet, police said.
