Pollard, 30, was assigned to Ladder Company 170 when he died on the Mill Basin Bridge Sunday night, less than two years after he joined the force, officials said.

The firefighter was racing toward two men injured in a car crash when he fell between a gap in the bridge and fell about 50 feet, according to the FDNY.

Pollard died from his injuries at Kings County Hospital.

Pollard was the son of 32-year FDNY veteran Raymond Pollard, a retired member of Bed-Stuy's Ladder Company 102, and the brother of Ladder Company 114 firefighter Raymond Pollard, said officials.
