Firefighters Continue Operations At Brooklyn Roof Fire

BROOKLYN, NY— Firefighters continued battling a rooftop fire at a Brooklyn warehouse Thursday afternoon after a blaze broke out on 44th Street, prompting a large emergency response.

The fire department received the call at 3:40 p.m. for a reported fire on the roof of a four-story warehouse at 222 44th Street between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

The warehouse measures approximately 100 feet by 50 feet, according to the FDNY.

Fire officials told Patch the department sent 21 units and 79 fire and emergency medical personnel to the scene as crews work to control the flames.

No injuries have been reported.

Officials said the fire would likely be under control by 5 p.m., but crews continued operations at the scene.

Fire investigators are working to determine what caused the blaze. Officials have not released a cause.
