Human Remains Found Along Brooklyn’s Red Hook Waterfront: NYPD
Authorities say a body was discovered in the waters off Brooklyn's Red Hook waterfront early Saturday afternoon.
BROOKLYN, NY — A man’s body was found near the Red Hook shoreline in Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Police and FDNY units responded to the scene after a 911 call reporting a body in the water.
Authorities said the unidentified man was found around 1:30 p.m. near Van Brunt Street. EMS pronounced him dead at the scene, officials added.

Witnesses told News 12 Brooklyn the remains appeared skeletal and were described as “small in stature” on rocks near the pier.
Authorities have not released additional information as the investigation continues.

The discovery comes just days after possible human remains were found Thursday night in the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, marking the second such case in a week.
