Iconic Brooklyn Eatery Di Fara Pizza Opens Sandwich Shop: Report
The new restaurant, 1012 Kitchen, had its grand opening last week and is currently only serving lunch, according to Eater.
BROOKLYN, NY — The family behind Brooklyn's legendary Di Fara Pizza is now in the sandwich business, according to a new Eater report.
The new Midwood restaurant, called 1012 Kitchen, is owned by Maggie DeMarco-Mieles, the daughter of Di Fara's founder Domenico DeMarco, according to the outlet.
DeMarco-Mieles told Eater that she uses sandwich recipes from her late father, who opened Di Fara in Midwood in 1965 and passed away last March.

It might be a small place—only having a takeout counter and a single table out front for seating—but its menu boasts a slew of Italian classics including heroes stacked with sliced eggplant, chicken cutlet, meatballs, and melted cheese, Eater reported.
