Jewish Man Pushed To Ground In Brooklyn Assault: Police

BROOKLYN, NY— A 64-year-old Jewish man was injured after an unknown person approached him and pushed him to the ground Tuesday morning in Flatbush, police said.

The assault happened at about 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of Kings Highway and Ocean Avenue, according to the NYPD.

Officers from the NYPD’s 61st Precinct responded to the scene along with the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force and Flatbush Shomrim, a community safety organization.

Emergency medical workers transported the victim to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.

Police said the victim was approached by an unknown individual who pushed him to the ground.

Authorities have not released additional details about the person responsible or whether the attack was motivated by bias.

The NYPD’s 61st Precinct and Hate Crimes Task Force are working to determine what happened before the assault and identify the person responsible.

Flatbush Shomrim also responded and is assisting with the investigation.
