6 Older Adults Assaulted In South Brooklyn: DA

District Attorney Eric Gonzalez is accusing a man of approaching six victims from behind and knocking them to the ground.

BROOKLYN, NY — The Brooklyn District Attorney has just accused Mouhamed Diallo, 29, of assaulting six different people, primarily adults over 70 years old, in Bay Ridge, Sunset Park and Coney Island.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said he suspects that Diallo approached the victims from behind — five women and one man — and pushed them down, sometimes stealing their belongings. All victims suffered cuts from the impact of the fall.

This pattern continued from late April to the end of May when Diallo was arrested.

“The outrageousness of this defendant’s disturbing attacks on vulnerable seniors cannot be overstated, and our prosecutors will work diligently to ensure that he can no longer endanger our neighbors," Gonzalez said.

The court has charged Diallo with 15 counts of robbery and assault. His bail was set at $100,000 cash or $300,000 bond.

The defendant has been deemed 'unfit to proceed,' so the court sent him into treatment until he's found fit, the DA said.

"This kind of random violence can terrorize a community, and it will never be tolerated in Brooklyn," Gonzalez said.
