Man Escapes Police Custody Outside Brooklyn Criminal Court
Authorities say the 21-year-old fled while being escorted into the courthouse for arraignment Tuesday afternoon.
BROOKLYN, NY— A 21-year-old man escaped police custody Tuesday afternoon while being escorted into Brooklyn Criminal Court for arraignment, authorities said.
The man reportedly fled on foot around 1 p.m. as officers transferred him from a police vehicle into the courthouse at 120 Schermerhorn St., police said.
According to authorities, he was being transported from the 73rd Precinct stationhouse in Brownsville to central booking when he ran.
