1 Dead In Brooklyn Nightclub Shooting, Latest In NYC Nightlife Violence: NYPD

Police identified the victim as 24-year-old Jayden Smith of Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NY — A man was shot and killed at a Brooklyn nightclub over the weekend, police said on Monday.

Police found 24-year-old Jayden Smith with gunshot wounds to the torso inside a club on Alabama Ave. near Stanley Ave. in East New York, around 4 a.m. on Sunday.

Medics rushed Smith to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to cops.

What led up to the shooting is not known at this time. No arrests have been made yet.

Police have not released a description of a possible shooter.

An investigation remains ongoing, officials said.

The Brooklyn shooting followed a string of violent incidents across the city.

Less than a day earlier, one man was killed and another wounded during gunfire at the G&S Restaurant and Lounge on White Plains Road in the Bronx, police said.

According to a report by the New York Post, a man who had been kicked out of a Gravesend restaurant around 9:40 p.m. Saturday returned and opened fire, injuring two people, including the bartender who had removed him.

And just last month, police said, a 34-year-old man was shot in the stomach and shoulder inside El Catracho Sports Bar on Jamaica Avenue in Queens.
