BROOKLYN, NY — The weather's set to get warmer this weekend, and no snow is on the way, so it's a great time to get out of your apartment to enjoy events around the borough.

From mariachi bands to soup tastings, here's a round-up of some of the best things to do in Brooklyn this weekend.


Game Show

Neighborhood: Gowanus

What: After a run at The Annoyance Theater, the live and "raunchy" game show comes to Threes Brewing with versions of the "Price is Right," "$25,000 Pyramid," "Name That Tune" and more. Tickets are $5.

'Cronos' Film Screening

Neighborhood: Williamsburg

What: A midnight screening of director Guillermo del Toro's 1993 Spanish-language film "Cronos." Tickets are $12, $9 for children and seniors.

Where: Nitehawk Cinema at 136 Metropolitan Ave.

When: Midnight on Friday and Saturday


Blunderland Variety Show

Neighborhood: Bushwick

What: A performance of burlesque, circus, cabaret and queer scenes presented by Eric Schmalenberger. Tickets are $20 and the show is for ages 21 and over.

When: 7 p.m. Friday


'Waterfront' Exhibition Opening

Neighborhood: DUMBO

What: The opening of a new multimedia exhibit "Waterfront" which "brings to life the vibrant history of Brooklyn's coastline," according to organizers.

Where: Brooklyn Historical Society at 55 Water St.

When: 11 a.m. Saturday


10th Annual Cassoulet Cook-Off

Neighborhood: Williamsburg

What: The 10th annual Cassoulet Cook-Off where professional and amateur chefs square off to see who makes the best cassoulet. Tickets are $45 and include unlimited food and drink.

Where: The Brooklyn Kitchen at 100 Frost St.

When: 12 p.m. Saturday


Terrarium Workshop

Neighborhood: Williamsburg

What: Sprout Home will host an interactive workshop on making a standard terrarium and how to have a "green home." Tickets are $100.

Flor de Toloache Performance

Neighborhood: Fort Greene

What: A performance by the all-female mariachi ensemble Flor de Toloache, who recently won their second Latin Grammy.

The Temple Ballroom Show

Neighborhood: Prospect Heights

What: A comedy show featuring performances by David Cross, Sasheer Zamata, Hannah Boone, Josh Rabinowitz and Brendan Eyre.

When: 9:30 p.m. Saturday


Brooklyn Soup Takedown 2018

Neighborhood: Greenpoint

What: A competition pairing chefs against each other to cook up the best soups. Tickets are $20 for all you can eat soup and the chance to vote for your favorite.

When: 2 p.m. Sunday


Brooklyn Community Chorus Winter Concert

Neighborhood: Park Slope

What: The annual winter concert by the Brooklyn Community Chorus with songs by Beethoven, Gjeilo and Pentatonix. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors.

Family Party

What: The annual fundraising family party at the Brooklyn Museum with bouncy castles, a dance-party, art projects and more.

'Steele Wars' Live Podcast Recording

Neighborhood: Park Slope

What: A live recording of the comedy podcast about Star Wars, "Steele Wars," hosted by Steele Saunders. The episode features Ronny Chieng from the Daily Show and Heather Antos from Marvel Comics as guests. Tickets are $15.

Sasheer Zamata Party Time

Neighborhood: Gowanus

What: Former SNL cast member Sasheer Zamata will host a show with performances by Judah Friedlander, Chloe Hilliard, Rojo Perez and music by Jocelyn Mackenzie. Tickets are $10.
