2 Firefighters Hurt Battling Coney Island Blaze, FDNY Says

Two firefighters were injured when a three-alarm blaze broke out on West 19th Street Monday morning, according to the FDNY.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — Two firefighters were injured and 15 people displaced by a massive three-alarm blaze in a Coney Island home Monday morning, according to officials

The fire erupted in the top floor of a two-story home on West 19th Street near Neptune Avenue just before 12:10 a.m., the FDNY said.

Two firefighters suffered minor injuries and were taken to Coney Island Hospital for treatment, said the FDNY.

Five families were set up with temporary housing through the Red Cross, according to communications officer Michael de Vulpillieres.

It took about two hours to get the flames under control as they spread to nearby buildings, the FDNY said.
