Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn:

1. New Yorkers now have more time to register to vote. In a bill signed in by Governor Kathy Hochul on Friday, the deadline to register to vote in the state of New York was shortened from 25 days to 10 days prior to Election Day. Voters who mail in registration forms need to have it postmarked 15 days prior to the election and arrive at the Board of Elections within 10 days prior to an election.

2. What does the most festive house in the borough look like? Today, consider making a trip over to Avenue K and East 72nd Street in Georgetown, Brooklyn if you want find out. The home has earned a reputation in the neighborhood for being the most dazzling around during the holiday season, and rightfully so. When night falls and the magical display begins to turn on light by light, crowds begin to gather. Many of the displays have been created by 21-year-old Austin Ferrazzano who started this tradition as a kid. He does his own electrical work, carpentry, and design. Many of the decorations are vintage, so he finds and restores them to create elaborate animatronic window scenes. Over the years, Ferrazzano has garnered quite the fan base: At the link, read testimony from neighbors who've made visiting the Georgetown home a tradition.

3. The gift that keeps on giving: The Brooklyn Nets just beat the Bucks, tying the franchise's longest win streak. After making team history with a 91-point first half against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, the Nets turned right back around to beat the Milwaukee Bucks 118-100 on Friday night. Kevin Durant scored 24 points, and the Nets held the Bucks' power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo scoreless in the fourth quarter. Nic Claxton made his first nine shots and finished 9 for 10 for a season high-tying 19 points for the Nets, who own the NBA's longest current winning streak and have won 12 of their last 13 games. "We just want to keep it up," Nets guard Kyrie Irving said. "We don't want to take our foot off the gas pedal."
