Natural Hair Festival And Reggae Concert In Brooklyn This Weekend
The two annual celebrations, CURLFEST and BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn!, come to the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park in August.

CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — Nothing says summer in Brooklyn like an outdoor concert or market. And this Saturday, August 17, will have both, thanks to a new partnership between BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! and CURLFEST.
CURLFEST, the annual natural beauty festival, will infuse the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park with a day of empowerment including beauty vendors, panel discussions, immersive experiences and goodie bags featuring top beauty brands. The event is ticketed, and will run from 12:00pm-7:00pm.
Then, BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! will continue the party with a free celebration of all things reggae at Brower Park in Crown Heights. The festival will feature performances from rising reggae stars like Lila Iké and singer-songwriter Laila!, and a screening of "Bob Marley: One Love." Brooklyn's very own DJ Sweet V will also be spinning the island beats. Doors for this event will open at 6:00pm.
