The polls closed in New York at 9 p.m. in the Democratic primary for the 50th Assembly District.
BROOKLYN, NY— Emily Gallagher leads the race, according to the New York State Board of Elections.
Gallagher holds 10,908 votes, or 67.80 percent, with all 70 of 70 election districts reporting. Andrew Bodiford trails with 1,547 votes, or 9.62 percent.
Blank ballots total 3,397 votes, or 21.12 percent of the count. Write-in votes reach 233, or 1.45 percent. Officials recorded three void ballots, or 0.02 percent. Total turnout stands at 16,088 votes.
