NYPD Officer Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver During Traffic Stop: NYPD

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation remains ongoing, police said.

BROOKLYN, NY — An NYPD cop was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver during a Brooklyn traffic stop Saturday night, police said.

The incident unfolded just after 8 p.m. Saturday near Broadway and Wallabout Street in Williamsburg, where a driver plowed into an NYPD officer during a traffic stop, police said.

Officers had pulled over a white 2018 Infiniti Q50S when the driver gunned it, striking two police vehicles before reversing and hitting the officer.

The hit-and-run driver then sped south on Wallabout Street and fled the scene.

The uniformed cop suffered a leg injury and was rushed to a nearby hospital in stable condition, cops said.

No description of the driver was immediately available, but police released this surveillance photo of the suspect.

Police have not disclosed why the driver was pulled over for the initial traffic stop.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said.
