Police Search For Serial Brownsville Robber

BROOKLYN, NY — The New York City Police Department is searching for a man they suspect has committed two recent robberies in Brownsville.

Officials say the first robbery was on August 26 before 9 a.m., when the suspect approached a 41-year-old woman from behind, placed his arm around her neck, pushed her to the ground and tried to remove money from her pockets. This incident took place at the corner of Osborn Street and Livonia Avenue. The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention.

The second robbery took place a week later, on Sept. 3, around 4 p.m., when the suspect approached a 33-year-old woman from behind, slapped her, threw her to the ground, and attempted to take her property, police said. This incident took place in the area near Riverdale Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard. The victim was treated for minor injuries at the scene, police said.

Both times, the suspect was unsuccessful in stealing anything and fled to parts unknown, according to NYPD.
