NYPD Searches For Suspect In Flatbush Hate Crime Attack

The police are searching for a man who they say made anti-Asian remarks and then punched a pedestrian in the head in Flatbush.

BROOKLYN, NY — The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect of a hate crime assault on Ocean Avenue and Foster Avenue at the beginning of the month.

The police say at around 5 a.m. on Aug. 2, an unknown man punched a pedestrian in the head and arm after making anti-Asian remarks.

The NYPD described the suspect as a man with a light complexion, brown eyes, brown hair, and a beard. The suspect also has a tattoo on his calf.

The man was last seen in Flatbush wearing a blue t-shirt, tan shorts, blue shoes and a green bag, police say.

The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention.
