🗞 Top stories in Brooklyn today:

1. A Saturday shooting in broad daylight left one dead and three injured in East Flatbush this weekend. Just before 2 in the afternoon, a gunman opened fire at a group of people at an apartment building at E. 45th Street near Snyder Avenue. The victims, 27 to 40, were urgently rushed to the hospital — one man was pronounced dead, a woman in critical condition, and another man and woman in stable condition despite gunshot wounds. The gunman is still at large and NYPD have not yet made any arrests. It remains unclear if the victims knew one another and if they were being specifically targeted. (FOX 5 New York)

2. Work has begun on the renovation and hotel conversion of the Coney Island Shore Theater. The seven-story historic building at 1301 Surf Ave. is nearly a century old and has sat abandoned since the 1970s. The renovation and conversion project with transform the derelict theatre into a hotel with guest amenities and ground-floor retail space. Currently veiled in scaffolding, the building windows are boarded up and graffiti has scoured its walls. Initial renovation plans surfaced in 2019 call for the renovation of the ground-floor façade with new limestone columns, a terracotta cornice, awnings, metal-framed signage, and updated bay windows for the retail frontage. The upper floors will be transformed into hotel rooms with the upper sixth and seventh housing a penthouse with a private balcony. (New York YIMBY)

3. A Greenpoint restaurant is offering a 'dining in the dark' experience now through April. Every Sunday (expect Easter), Leuca is bringing out the blindfolds for a new culinary experience that brings customers its classic Southern Italian fair, yet challenges them to enjoy a their meal with only four of their senses. The estimated 90-minute experience is offered twice one Sundays, once at 6 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. The mystery menu, curated by the Leuca chefs, consists of flavors inspired by Southern Italy. Dim candles will give waiters just enough sight to do their jobs, but diners will be completely blindfolded and immersed in this new take on the 'blind date.' (SILive.com)
