Public School Teacher Accused Of Strangling Brooklyn Student: NYPD

BROOKLYN, NY — Police have accused a Brooklyn-based public school teacher of strangling a 15-year-old student at a school on Tuesday afternoon, the New York City Police Department said.

Gary Zeng, 27, is accused of strangulation in the second degree, assault in the third degree, criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child, NYPD officials said.

Zeng was arrested at 2630 Benson Ave., which is the Lafayette Educational Campus in Gravesend, on Tuesday at 1:46 p.m., police said.

Police did not confirm what school the teacher worked at, and said the investigation is underway.
