Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:

1. Assemblymember Diana Richardson was named Deputy Borough President under Antonio Reynoso. Richardson has represented the 43rd District since 2015, and she is looking forward to the opportunity to represent the entire borough. Since she began her term in the 43rd District, she has worked towards combating gun violence, addressing food insecurity, and reforming community boards. (Brooklyn Paper)
2. Elyssa Heller, a Jewish-American Restauranter, is opening the doors of Edith's Eatery & Grocery today. The restaurant and grocery store, named after her great aunt, hopes to build upon the success of her popular pop-up sandwich shop in north Brooklyn. The opening hours are Monday to Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Eater NY)
3. Rabsky Group secured a $72M financial package to construct a high-rise residential building at 240 Willoughby St. in Fort Greene. The loan will also find the renovation of the existing 21-story development within the same complex. The Rabsky Group acquired the complex, formerly known as Brooklyn Hospital Center, in 2018 for a reported $100 million. (New York YIMBY)
