Yo Or Oy? Iconic Brooklyn Bridge Park Statue Arrives On Williamsburg Waterfront

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — It’s time for Williamsburg to ponder, ‘I am’ or, ‘Oy vey’?

Brooklyn Bridge Park’s icon OY/YO sign has been installed on the Williamsburg waterfront, the artist announced on Tuesday.

Sculptor Deborah Kass posted three photos of her big, yellow sign — which sat in Brooklyn Bridge Park between 2015 and 2016 — arriving in Williamsburg Waterfront Piers on Monday and Tuesday.

“She has arrived,” the artist wrote.

The enigmatic sculpture famously presents its Brooklyn viewers with a puzzle of perspective — does it claim “I am” in Spanish or “Woe is me” in Yiddish?

Williamsburg residents hoping to solve the riddle can find the big, yellow OY/YO at The Edge Park near North Sixth Street, according to Brownstoner.

While Kass’ followers responded to her posts mostly with excitement, one Instagram user had a point of criticism.

“They're putting the Y on the wrong side,” Jeremyadams2410 wrote.

He clearly knows something this reporter does not.
