New Yorkers Unite To Applaud Essential Workers

At 7 p.m. Friday, New Yorkers will show their appreciation to essential workers with a two-minute round of applause.

NEW YORK, NY – On Friday night, New Yorkers will show their gratitude to the essential workers who have kept the city running and provided health care during the new coronavirus outbreak. From wherever they are – balconies, living rooms, gardens – they will show their appreciation, from a safe distance.

Using the hashtag #ClapBecauseWeCare, the Karla Otto public relations agency is encouraging everyone to join in on a two-minute round of applause at 7 p.m. from a location that is safe for them to do so.

City agencies are also getting on board, including the City Parks Foundation.
