School Teacher Accused Of Assaulting Brooklyn Student: NYPD
The student is 10 years old, officials said.
BROOKLYN, NY — Police have accused a Brooklyn-based public school teacher of assaulting a 10-year-old student at a school on Monday, the New York City Police Department said.
Moaz Mahmoud, 26, has been charged with assault and acting in a manner injurious to a child after allegedly hitting a student inside Public School 276 on E. 83rd St. near Avenue K in Canarsie, police said.
Mahmoud was arrested shortly after the incident, but it is currently unknown whether he was taken into custody on school grounds.

His arraignment was pending in Brooklyn Criminal Court, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
