Here are the top stories in Brooklyn today:
1. On Tuesday, BBP Antonio Reynoso gave the first State of the Borough address in nearly a decade. The audience was filled with cheering Brooklynites, including Reynoso's predecessor Mayor Eric Adams and fellow "Brooklyn boy" U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer who spoke ahead of the Borough President at the address ceremony. Reynoso took the opportunity to highlight his own achievements during his first year in office — including his continued efforts to invest in maternal health care — as well as outline his goals and promises to the people of Brooklyn for his next term. For a quick sense of Reynoso's approach to the address (and to leadership), here's quick snippet from his speech: "I'm not here to do a thousand things halfway, I'm here to do the five or six or seven things that will make a real difference in people's lives. Brooklyn needs major changes, and I'm going to do right by my people. This role isn't just ceremonial, we're going to prove what we can do and show Brooklyn the difference a Borough President can make."

2. A knife and chair were a suspect's alleged weapons of choice when he broke into his ex-girlfriend's place of work. At around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, a man wielding a chair used the piece of furniture to smash his way into his ex-girlfriend's, 39, place of work — Cava on Adams Street. After the break-in, the suspect stabbed his ex-girlfriend repeatedly before fleeing the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition. NYPD have identified the suspect and released and photo of him. For more information, visit the link below.
3. A Brooklyn man ate about 500 slices of pizza from all five boroughs and decided Queens does it best when it comes to NYC's favorite food. Liam Quigley is a freelance reporter whose work has appeared in the Daily News, Hell Gate, and the Eagle, giving him some reliable credo when it comes to judging a good slice. Over the course of eight years, Quigley has tried hundreds of the city's slices — from Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island, Queens, and even New Jersey — and just this week released a comprehensive report of his findings. Documentation of his eats started on Instagram, but he refrained from sharing his reviews there so as to "avoid controversy and bribes." However, Quigley's newly released report bares all, including a line graph illustrating the steady increasing average price per slice citywide. The reporter names 13 of his favorite pizza slices, and nearly half of them are in Queens.
