Stellar Elderly Caregiver Earns $5k from Assisted Living Services

After receiving rave reviews for her compassionate and competent elderly care, Mary Donkor of Brooklyn, N.Y. was presented with the Assisted Living Services, Inc. Platinum Caregiver Award for September. The homecare agency surprised the live-in caregiver with the prestigious honor at the home of client Matilda Ellwanger in Madison, CT on Oct. 31, 2019. In addition to a check for $5,000, the monthly award includes a beautiful crystal statue and a certificate of merit.

Donkor shed tears of joy while receiving big hugs of gratitude from Ellwanger’s daughter Carolyn Kuczenski and her friend Denise Bristol who were on hand for the presentation and nominated Donkor.

The nomination stated, “She does everything! She’s like family, she’s very caring. I love the fact that when I go to the home, I see her holding my Mom’s hand”.
