Teens Get Arrested For Bringing Gun To Brooklyn School, Police Say

The school was briefly on lockdown Thursday.

BROOKLYN, NY — Two teenagers were arrested in Brownsville for bringing a gun to school on Thursday afternoon, New York Police Department officials said.

Officers said a 16-year-old boy took a gun from his backpack and handed it to a 16-year-old girl around 12:30 p.m. at Metropolitan Diploma Plus High School, which is located at 985 Rockaway Avenue.

The school was temporarily on lockdown while officers searched the school for the gun and arrested the teenagers.

No injuries were reported, police say, and the investigation is ongoing.

This comes just one day after a 15-year-old was shot during dismissal at a Canarsie high school.
