Veterans Day is the one day out of the year that brings so many emotions as many of these heroes look back at a time when serving their country was patriotic, brave, and justified, while others look at it with some regrets and many have unanswered questions. With it all, we all look up to them and thank them for the freedom we all enjoy every day.

Here in Brooklyn, three Centers Health Care skilled nursing facilities have nearly 50 veterans altogether and they all honored them in their own special way. Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation on Madison Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant welcomed the folks from Alpha Kappa Sorority, who gave a goody bag with an American flag and a gorgeous printed personal certificate. Later in the day, the Recreation Department showed the Tom Hanks classic, “Saving Private Ryan”. It was indeed a great time.
