A Truck Causes Power Outages For 10K Customers In Brooklyn: Con Ed
Con Edison officials said the truck drove into overhead wires at the corner of Troy Avenue and Glenwood Road in Brooklyn.

BROOKLYN, NY — Residents in five different Southern Brooklyn ZIP codes experienced power outages in their homes after a truck struck overhead wires around 8 a.m. Thursday, officials from energy company Con Edison told Patch.
According to Con Ed officials, a truck struck the wires at the intersection of Troy Avenue and Glenwood Road, causing an outage to about 10,000 customers.
New York City Emergency Management tweeted that residents in ZIP codes 11203, 11236, 11234, 11226, and 11213 — which include Flatbush, East Flatbush, Canarsie, Marine Park, and Crown Heights — were impacted.

"Our crews are on the scene making repairs, and the count is down to about 3,800 [outages]," a Con Ed spokesperson told Patch around 10:30 a.m. Thursday. "They will be restored this morning."
As of 11:54 a.m. Thursday, service was fully restored, a Con Ed spokesperson said.
