We thank our veterans throughout the course of the year but Veterans Day is the one day we officially salute and thank them for their bravery. At Boro Park Center on 10th Avenue next door to Maimonides Medical Center, veterans were given certificates in a very heartfelt ceremony that included music, speeches and tasty pastries.

Concord Nursing and Rehabilitation on Madison Street also had beautiful festivities for their veterans. At the 140-bed facility, a poem called, "On Veterans Day" was read by Recreation Director Aracelis Abreu and Ms. Abreu also played some veterans songs, one was titled, "The Brave!". Alpha Kappa Sorority from one of the local colleges donated beautiful gifts with a certificate.
