Woman Grabbed From Behind In Brooklyn Strangulation: Police

Police are searching for a man who grabbed a 25-year-old woman around the neck southeast of Prospect Park.

BROOKLYN, NY — NYPD are seeking a suspect in a Thursday assault and strangulation of a woman in Brooklyn.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. in the area of Ocean Avenue and Parkside Avenue. According to police, the 25-year-old victim was walking in a building when an unknown man approached from behind. The man wrapped his arm around her neck, leading the victim to scream "stop" and "help." That led the man to tell her to be quiet and let her go. He fled in an unknown direction.

The victim refused medical attention. Police do not have a suspect description other than a man with a dark complexion.
