2 Men Fatally Shot At Brooklyn Playground: Police

BROOKLYN, NY — Two men were fatally shot Friday night at a playground in Brooklyn's Brownsville neighborhood, according to the NYPD.

Police responded to a report of shots fired at about 10:20 mp.m. Sept. 11 at Howard Playground near Mother Gaston Boulevard and Glenmore Avenue, according to media reports.

Officers found Deon Miller, 33, with a gunshot wound to the neck and Antoine Utsey, 35, with gunshot wounds to the chest and ankle, according to NBC New York. Both men were taken to local hospitals, where they were pronounced dead.

NBC reported that Miller lived near the playground and identified Utsey as a Bed-Stuy resident.

"They were fathers. They had kids and everything, so it's just sad when you hear of stuff like this," one neighbor, who grew up with the victims, told CBS News. "It's just shocking. It's shocking."

Police were searching Saturday for the shooter, who fled the scene, and no arrests had been made. Investigators have not publicly disclosed a possible motive.

The investigation remains ongoing.
