Armed Men Steal $1,200 From 5 Brooklyn Delis In 5 Days: NYPD

Two men who spent one week robbing bodegas in Brownsville and Bushwick this month ran off with more than $1,200, police said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for two armed robbers who have hit five delis in Bushwick and Brownsville and made off with more than $1,200 in cash.

The robbery spree began and ended at Santa Grocery Corp. on Blake Avenue near Herzl Street, where the duo stole $1,000 around 10:25 p.m. Jan. 2, then returned four days later for an unsuccessful second robbery attempt, said police.

The robbers also robbed three bodegas on Livonia Avenue, Stanhope Street and Starr Street within four hours between 8 p.m. and midnight the night of Jan. 4, said police.

The pair barged first grabbed $200 from Mini Market & Deli at 479 Livonia Ave. between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., sped over to Steve M. Grocery at 423 Stanhope St. where they left without any cash, then hit Garden Deli and Grill at 185 Starr St. where they stole an unknown amount of money, police said.

The two men were last seen fleeing Santa Grocery Corp. on Jan. 6 around 4:35 p.m. when they jumped into a blue taxi and sped away up Herzl Street, said police.
