Brooklyn Man Fatally Shot In Brownsville Lobby, Police Say

Dawud Escort, 25, was shot in the chest and arm in the lobby of the Unity Plaza houses Wednesday evening, police said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A Brooklyn man died after he was shot in the chest and collapsed in his building's lobby on Wednesday evening, according to police.

Dawud Escort, 25, was shot in the chest and arm in the Unity Plaza houses lobby at 545 Dumont Ave. around 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, said police.

Escort fled the building and ran toward his home at 330 Hindsdale St., where emergency responders found him lying on the lobby floor, police said.

Escort was rushed to Brookdale Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, said police.

No arrests had been made as of Thursday morning, according to police.
