Brownsville Police Stations Get ATMs To Prevent Robberies

You can now withdraw cash at the 73rd Precinct and at PSA 2 in Brownsville.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — The NYPD has installed ATMs in two Brownsville police houses to offer residents a safe space to withdraw cash.

There are now two cash-withdrawal machines in the 73rd Precinct at 1470 E. New York Ave. and at Police Service Area 2 at 560 Sutter Ave., the NYPD and Municipal Credit Union confirmed Wednesday.

The new machines are part of an initiative to combat ATM robberies in crime-heavy neighborhoods and to improve relations between those neighborhoods’ communities and local police, according to the New York Post.

MCU and the NYPD will discuss the possibility of installing ATMS in each of the city’s 98 station houses, according to the NYPD and the MCU spokeswoman.
