Couple Attacks Hardware Store Employees And Steals Phone, Police Say

Police released images of the man and woman on Wednesday morning

BROWNSVILLE — Police are searching for a man and woman who attacked a pair of hardware store employees.

The couple marched into the hardware store at 429 Sutter Ave. around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, police said.

The woman began to argue with two employees behind the counter, and after her male companion came to back her up, the argument turned violent, police said.

The duo scuffled with the employees, stole one of their cellphones, and fled the store, according to police.

The two employees were taken Brookdale Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries, said police.

Police released images of the suspects, whom they describe as a 250-pound woman standing five-foot-six and a 150-pound man of the same height.

The woman can be seen wearing a black tank top and blue jeans, the man wears black a Adidas baseball cap and t-shirt.
