Cyclist Killed In Brownsville Drunk Driving Crash, Cops

Treasure Liggins had a 4-year-old child in the back seat of her car when she drunkenly crashed into Mohammed Abdullah Sunday, police said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN β€” A Brooklyn cyclist died in a crash Sunday night after a drunk woman with a young child in her backseat lost control of her car, police said.

Treasure Liggins, 22, rammed into Mohammed Abdullah, 29, with her 2007 Infiniti G35 as he rode his Arrow-10 e-bike along Avenue D near East 105 Street just before 10:40 p.m., police said.

Abdullah, of East New York, was knocked him off his bicycle and sent flying into the street as the Infiniti jumped the curb and came to a jolting stop, according to police.

Emergency responders rushed Abdullah, who suffered injuries to his head and body, to Brookdale Hospital where he later died, police said.

Medics pulled Liggins and a 4-year-old out of the Infiniti and took both to Kings County Hospital, where they were treated and released, said police.

Liggins, also of East New York, was arrested at 2:20 a.m. Monday morning and charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child.

Treasure Liggins shares the same name and age with a young woman whose mother, paralegal Jasmine Liggins, was shot dead in their Bed-Stuy home in 2008, when she was 11 years old, according to a Daily News report.

Treasure told police she had often witnessed her mom fight with her then-boyfriend, who disappeared after the murder, the Daily News reported at the time.

More information about Liggins' arraignment was not immediately available.
