BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — The man who tried to tear a four-month-old baby away from her terrified mother as they rode on the J train now faces kidnapping charges, according to police.
Rafael Martinez, 30, tried to pull the baby girl away from her mother on a J train near the Alabama Avenue station in Cypress Hills on Sunday around 11 p.m., police said.
Martinez first tried to talk to the child’s 21-year-old mother and 42-year-old grandmother, but when the women moved away from the clearly disturbed man, he lunged for the baby carriage, said police.
