'He's Lying': Trump Never Offered Condolences To Brooklyn Dad Of Slain Soldier, Report Says
President Donald Trump never offered condolences to the family of Sgt. Roshain Brooks, a Brooklyn soldier killed in Iraq, his father said

CANARSIE, BROOKLYN — The father of a soldier killed in Iraq is outraged President Donald Trump claimed to have offered condolences he never gave, according to reports.
Uvince Brooks, 58, the father of Army Sgt. Roshain Brooks, blasted Trump for saying he had contacted every family who lost a relative serving in the armed forces, the Daily News reported.
“He’s lying. He didn’t contact us,” said Brooks, whose son died in an artillery blast “mishap” on Aug 13. “Nobody from the White House cares about my family and our grief.”

"They're just a bunch of fakers," Trump said of reports claiming he his behavior toward military family members was insensitive. He continued to boast to Brian Kilmeade, “I think I've called every family of somebody that's died."
But several family members have since come forward to disprove the president’s claim.
After Sheila Murphy’s son died in an armored vehicle accident in Syria, she waited months for Trump to contact her. She even wrote Trump a letter, which he never responded to, saying, "Some days I don't want to live."
And Brittany Harris, the pregnant widow of Army Spc. Christopher Michael Harris, who was killed in Afghanistan, told the Associated Press the president scheduled a call that later “fell through.”
Brooks added his name to the growing list on Wednesday. The Canarsie handyman told the Daily News he and his wife have spent many sleepless nights grieving for their son, who Brooks called his hero.
“He was everything to me,” Brooks said of his son, who also served in Afghanistan in 2014. “Losing him was almost like losing myself.”
Brooks extended his condolences to other grieving military families, whom he believes have been “disrespected” by the president’s recent claims.
“He’s a damn disgrace," said Brooks. "To hear [Trump] coming out, lying like that, it makes it even worse.”
