Hit-And-Run Driver Slams Into Brownsville Teenager, Police Say

Police are looking for the driver who sped the wrong way down Mother Gaston Boulevard, rammed into a 16-year-old girl and sped away.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for the driver who slammed into a teenage girl in a Brownsville crosswalk then sped away without stopping to help her.

The 16-year-old girl had the walk signal when she crossed Livonia Avenue at Mother Gaston Boulevard and was hit by a dark-colored, four-door sedan around 6:45 a.m. on Jan. 9, police said.

Video shows the driver speeding the wrong way up Mother Gaston Boulevard before swerving into a left turn and hitting the teenager, police said.

The girl was knocked to the pavement and suffered cuts on her face and neck, as well as bruising on her head, police said.

Emergency responders took the teenager to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition, said police.

The sedan fled westbound on Livonia Avenue, said police.
