Man on Electric Scooter Killed in East New York Collision: NYPD
The 81-year-old man was riding an electric scooter that collided with a Nissan Altima.
BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A man was killed after a Nissan Altima collided with his electric scooter at the intersection of Fulton Street and New Jersey Avenue Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.
Police responded to a 911 call around 11:40 a.m. where they found an 81-year-old man unconscious and unresponsive with severe head trauma. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
According to a preliminary investigation, the man was driving his electric scooter with an attached wooden cart eastbound on Fulton Street when he collided with a 2013 gray colored Nissan Altima operated by an 18-year-old male, which was traveling in the same direction.

The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene. Police have not publicly identified the man who died.
Police said there are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing by the NYPD's collision investigation squad.
