MTA Worker Shot Dead On Brooklyn Street, Police Say
Jacqueline Dicks was found lying on an East New York sidewalk, police said.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — Police are hunting for three suspects they say fatally show an MTA worker as she headed home from her shift. Jacqueline Dicks, 41, was found lying on the sidewalk outside 1010 Elton Street around 11:40 p.m. Monday evening, police said.
Dicks, a conductor on the N Line and mother of six children, was still wearing her MTA uniform when police found her with a single bullet wound in her head, said police and the MTA.
She was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

"Last night we lost one of our own to gun violence," said MTA Interim Executive Director Ronnie Hakim in a statement. "
We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and will assist NYPD in any way possible."
Dicks’ death was one of two fatal shootings in western Brooklyn Monday night.

Akeem Booker, 28, of Queens, and a 53-year-old man were both shot at the corner of Avenue N and Rockaway Parkway in Canarsie around 10:55 p.m., police said.
The two men were rushed to Brookdale Hospital where Booker later died and the 53-year-old — who was shot in the left hand and thigh — was listed in stable condition, said police.
A vigil for Dicks was held on the corner of Elton Street and Cozine Avenue Thursday evening at 7 p.m., an NYPD clergyman announced on Facebook.
