BROWNSVILLE, NY — The Brownsville Community Justice Center is working on a new initiative aimed at providing young adults, who have had brush-ins with the law, a second chance, News 12 reported.
The Justice Center is partnering with Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow, a nonprofit, to run the eight-week program in which 18- to 24-year-old participants meet three times a week in order to prepare for the workforce.
"I've got a lot of friends who have been locked up for various things," Kwesi Johnson, a program participant, told News 12. He didn't run with the best group of friends. "Some bad, some very bad," he said.
